To reduce the risk of the incorrect administration of vinca alkaloids intrathecally instead of intravenously the NPSA issued guidance in August 2008. For all adolecent and adult patients vinca alkaloids should be administered iv via minibag instead of syringe to prevent confusion. This guidance should have by now been implemented in all centres.
