New Consultants Group Meeting 2010

E-mail Print PDF

The meeting this year took place on the 20th-21st March in Birmingham. It was kindly supported by Lilly with Jill Bruce as usual doing much of the organisation. Around 50 delegates, all registrars within 6 months of CCT, or consultants within 5 years, attended. The programme included advice on trials work from Profs David Cameron and David Ferry, and on discussing trials with patients by Prof Lesley Fallowfield. There were also talks on Acute Oncology services, an after dinner speech by Bass Hassan, and an interesting debate on assisted suicide. There were workshops on chairing meetings, commisioning, and statistics. As usual the event provided a great opportunity for delegates to network and discuss the challenges of obtaining a post and settling into a new role.

The acute oncology talks are included in the Acute Oncology Meeting report. Some of the other slides are attached below.
