About the ACP

The ACP was set up in 1985 as the specialty organisation for medical oncologists in the UK. Fifteen years on the Association has grown considerably,  representing both consultants and specialist registrars who enjoy additional benefits through Cancer Physicians in Training (CPIT).  The principal aims of the ACP are:

  • to represent the interests of cancer physicians
  • to advance the study and practice of cancer medicine
  • to raise standards of medical care for cancer patients
  • to increase contact between members and other associations concerned with the study and treatment of cancer

This website has been set up to assist in keeping members informed about the organisation including:

  • News and announcements
  • Information on membership and how to join
  • Details of the current Committee members
  • Notice of CPIT meetings and issues affecting trainees
  • Prizes available to trainees
  • A diary of ACP events and important conferences and meetings
  • Useful links relevant to members

This is the latest incarnation of the site, it will gradually evolve following feedback from members.
